I think it's time for a new car for me. I have driven a Nissan Altima 2001, 4 cylinder. The car I am looking at is a Nissan (my Nissan has been very good to me), a Nissan Maxima Platinum 2016. A couple people in my family tell me I will incur many repair bills, because I generally just drive around town, maybe a small trip once a year or so. My mechanic said not to worry about it because later model Nissans are more user friendly, and I will have no more repairs than normal. Any advice on this? I looked at the 2016 Altima, but it really looks pretty much like the one I have now... and I love all the luxury and bells and whistles of the Maxima. Any ideas on this? I don't want to have to pay a fortune on repairs.... thank you.

Anyone who tells you you'll have repair bills is living in la-la land! These are NISSAN, not sub-par vehicles produced in a place you cannot pronounce. The Maxima is built in Smyrna Tennessee. The factory warranty which covers everything is 36 month or 36,000 miles. The Engine and Tranny are coverage for 5 years or 60,000 miles - so what would you possibly be paying for? The 2016 Altima is not out yet, where did you see one? Did you mean 2016 Maxima? I drive Nissan's and don't have repair bills, other than periodic maintanence.
