Asked by Codynashlee Jan 11, 2017 at 11:04 PM about the 2001 Ford Focus ZTS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 ford focus it seems like
it when you put it in drive it only has
1st gear but you can keep the rpms
low and shift it from 1st to 2nd then
drive and it will shift fine but it seems
like it wants to respond to reverse but
its not taking the gear like it should
and i drove it one day in drive and
shifted so hard the tires barked and
the car jerked real hard. what can it
be?

The only thing u can do is make sure transmission oil level is ok, other than that, take it a transmission shop but sounds like the transmission just went out on u
