2015 Dodge Charger Scat Pack

Asked by Jpalumbo0839 Nov 03, 2015 at 10:30 PM about the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a new 2015 Dodge Charger
scat pack with the 6.4 liter hemi. There are
currently 980 miles on the vehicle. When first test
driven and purchased the engine seemed smooth
and whisper quiet, well as quiet as you would
expect from an engine of that size.

After around 500 miles I noticed that the
transmission does not seem to shift as smoothly.
The car idles fairly rough and seems to stutter
when the brake is released at idle speed with no
pressure applied to the accelerator

Additionally when backing of the accelerator the
whole car seems to "lurch" and begin decelerating
almost as if the brakes were applied lightly.

The Scat Pack is not known for being quiet but is noisy and brash. I suspect an engine that hot will be a bit lumpy when idling. A big engine like that will give you a lot of engine braking when you suddenly release the gas pedal so I suspect your car is pretty much normal.

2015 car with possible drive-ability issues needs to be looked at at the dealership.
