How do I engage the 4x4 on a 1995 Yukon

Button or floor shift. Have you tried them, if so what is wrong? Sorry question is to vauge.

Yes. You should have the tranny in neutral when shifting from 2 High to 4 Low and back. And it works better if you are rolling slightly. If you get the T-case stuck in N it is easier to shut the engine off to finish the shift.

If your already stuck and need 4 Low try this. From 2 Hi tranny in Neutral push the shifter as far as it will go. Hold it there shift into gear and if it doesn't pop in tap the gas likely. It should suck it into Low. If you have lots of issues it sounds like someone was being mean to it.

There should only be 2 High. From the front to the back the lever will stop 4 times. 4 Wheel Low -> T-case Neutral -> 2 High -> 4 Wheel High.
