Any chance it might have been a flood vehicle? It sounds like it has an electrical or computer module issue.

No sir I purchased the car from Texas direct auto. I was thinking the same thing as I was looking underneath the truck to look for any loose wires or cracked caskets around the transmission area. I have the same issues when I go through a car wash

Usually with a Dodge Ram, if you see spurious electrical issues it may be related to the TIPM, or totally integrated power module. Google "Dodge Ram TIPM symptoms" for a list of all sorts of problems attributed to this module. It is an expensive part to replace, but before doing anything that drastic, just open yours up, and check the condition of the box. Make sure the TIPM is well seated, no abrasion to the wire harness, connector solidly in place, and most important, that no water is getting in there.

I would check all the plugs at the transmission and seal out moisture with dielectric grease.
