Hi on my sunroof on both sides the iron pieces are hanging down...I'm scared to open my sunroof in fear it might get stuck...

Do you know when and how this happened? Was it like this when you bought the car? No, there should be nothing hanging down from your roof so, yes, you need to go to a mechanic and have it looked at BEFORE you try to open it. good luck.
