Usually that means one or more sensors are bad in the AWD system, but you also have a check engine light, now this could also be related to the AWD failure or it could be something else entirely. Take it to your favorite shop and get it checked.

The CEL will illuminate for various issues and could be connected to any part of the operation of the car. But when the computer illuminates the CEL, it also turns off traction and stability controls and the cruise control. Fix the cause of the CEL and the AWD & Trac Off will return to normal.
