on my 2001 ford excurison door ajar light stays on when i open back hatch window and doors

Sounds like the latch switch is defective. You will need to replace it to have this stop.

I had the same exact problem...spray WD-40 into the latch on the door. the sensor that tells if the door is shut is probably just jammed...i sprayed it in mine, then shut and opened the door several times. (just make sure you leave the door open util all the WD-40 drips out the holes at the bottom of the door)
