Question type: General

Ok so I had an accident at approximately 70 mph front
bumper to rear bumper and the airbags did not deploy.
Anyone have any reasons for this. Where are the sensor

Deployment of the air bag is dependent on "G" force and not speed as detected by the sensor. As an example, if you strike a stationary object it may deploy between 8 and 15 miles per hour. If the barrier you strike has play in it, like water filled barriers on interstate exits, it may take between 10 to 18 miles per hour. So, if you doing 70 miles per hour and run into the back of a vehicle going 65 miles per hour, obviously the G force is less and the sensor in your vehicle will not trigger the bag.
