2015 Toy Corolla Cvt trans

I have damage to the trans pan from debris on the
road which also bent the trans filter. I can purchase
the pan and gasket but Toyota is saying you have
to buy a transmission for $6000 to get a filter. Is
there anyplace to buy just a filter?

You may want to hit up your car insurance for this repair if this is true. Call the parts counter at several Toyota dealers and see if you can buy just the filter. It is possible that this is true because CVT's can't usually be repaired or rebuilt, just replaced.

If you decide to go ahead with repairs you could look for a used transmission from a junk yard.

Thanks. Called around to different dealers, trans shops and parts suppliers. Every body is saying the same thing. Crazy that I have to buy a junkyard trans to replace a filter.
