My cooling fan doesn’t shut down until well after 8-
10 minutes. It ran drained our first battery.

Check your owners manual I think that's normal and you have a bad battery, for sure the battery should run the fan longer than Ten minutes

Mike, the cooling fan does remain on for a certain amount of time, normally. It’s know it’s a feature. Still suspect something isn’t functioning properly. Maybe it’s a sensor or a relay switch or a fuse. Apparently, this seems to be a common problem for the Jetta. I checked the fuse. It’s fine. I don’t know which fuse is the relay fuse in the engine area. Finding a diagram is impossible, so far. I’ve yet to examine whether the fuse is damaged. The first battery was weak. It was at its end, after two years in Las Vegas, it met its death. The constant fan running was much longer because of the dying battery. When we bought the new battery(last month), the cooling fan does take 5-10 minutes. We’ve had some 105-115 degrees weather this summer. I’m assuming the cooling fan is running longer because of the extreme heat. Do anyone have a fuse diagram for my 2015 Jetta SE? Also, would you happen to have a diagram for the engine fuses under the hood? If I take the relay fuse out, will I have to reset any of the computer electronic settings at the dealership?
