2015 chrysler town and country block heater install

Asked by jkyro87 Nov 24, 2018 at 06:21 PM about the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm trying to install an engine block heater on my 2015 Chrysler Town and
Country with a 3.6L V6.  I've heard it's behind the alternator but don't want to go
tearing things apart until I'm for sure.  Does anyone have any pro advice?

Where do you live? Are you sure you don't already have one? Look around the radiator support on both sides for a taped up ac plug.

I bought it in Kansas, currently in colorado, moving to alaska in a couple weeks. Military life. I did a quick browse but I didn't see one.

Check again the block heater came with all that I've seen here in Mn. The aftermarket heaters have a tendency to blow out because it's a tough place to work. I hope this helps, have fun in Alaska, I'm a retired SGM and have been to WAINWRIGHT and a little dump called Diamede.

Dug all around in there. Couldn't find a block heater. Also still can't find the hole where the heater goes in to the block

Did you take the alternator off? After it's off you need to work from underneath the frost plugs are quite small and may be filled with debris.

I forgot to say Thanks for Your Service. I stuck it out for 25 years. The retirement is worth it if you can stay alive that long.
