With convertible tops I've always heard keep the soft top up so it can be stretched. Leaving a soft top down too long they develop fold marks and shrink. You may want to check with the owner's manual on how to store it or on a Tbird forum.

Absolutely agree with KenF. I have had several convertibles over the years and leaving the top down for an extended period is not good.

Also agree with KenF. Store it with the convertible top in the up position to avoid any folded crease issues.
