Groaning noise when shifting out of park.

Asked by NicMart Sep 10, 2020 at 03:16 PM about the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It makes a groaning noise when I shift from park or reverse. Not a squeak or
grind, more like a mechanical "moan." I noticed that it's worse first thing in the
morning and doesn't do it unless I am shifting so I don't think it's brakes.

Correct answer above. To clarify, it's the transmission fluid.
