2015 Subaru Outback

Asked by JoJoJersey Jun 04, 2018 at 12:16 PM about the 2015 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I first pull out of a parking spot with my Subaru it makes a funny lite
bump sound underneath the carriage either by the front and/or back passenger
tire.  Hard to decipher exactly where.  It almost sounds like there is something
in the truck that falls when pulling out though there is not.  Any idea what it may
be please?

I get this also and never had it with my other cars, so it is the Subaru. Mine happens when backing up and I go over the little lip where my driveway ends and the street begins. When I slowed down and more importantly didn't turn the wheel as much, (I back further into the street before I turn the wheel) the sound goes away. I hope that's not a sign of a bad boot or something.

Have never used e brake. Sound seems to come from front left tire when wheel is turned to the right when backing up.

Could it be the tire rubbing loose fender liner when turned? Pretty rare to have a bad half- axle only act up when turned in reverse....
