Engine swap

Asked by LifeKeepsRolling Jul 28, 2019 at 05:37 PM about the 2015 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2015 Subaru Outback and I’m in a
wheelchair. So buying a wrx or Impreza won’t
work, because I’d have to brake down my
chair every time I go somewhere. So that’s
why I chose the Outback for more room. I
want to upgrade as much as I can and I was
wondering if I could swap a wrx or a 2.5l
motor into my Outback?

Not in a practical sense. The cost would be huge. If you want more power buy a six cylinder Outback.

Not sure if this is relevant anymore: but I’m thinking the same. If the wrx has the same CVT transmission in it from the same model year, would a equivalent year FA20 bolt up? Electronics aside
