2015 Jeep Compass with 42,000 Miles. A month ago I was driving on the highway and a lightening bolt came on the dashboard. The Jeep had power to the radio and call but I was pushing the gas and nothing. The bolt flashed for 4 seconds went off and then it drove fine. Last week I was driving and the lightening bolt, check engine light, and traction control came on. The Jeep begin to putt, the radio and all was wokring but it lost gas. I was pressing the gas and nothing, pulled the Jeep over took the key out waited a few seconds and put the key back in and it worked. The check engine light remained on, parked at my house. Came back out about an hour later put the key in and turned it over and all the lights were off and the Jeep has since been running fine. Any help is greatly appreciated, I am pretty stumped. Thank you!!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A month ago I was driving on the highway and a lightening bolt came on the
dashboard. The Jeep had power to the radio, etc. but I was pushing the gas
and nothing - it was like the gas had no power. The bolt flashed for 2
seconds went off and then it drove fine (I didn't even have to pull over). Last
week I was driving and the lightening bolt, check engine light, and traction
control came on. The Jeep begin to putt, the radio and all was working but it
lost gas. I was pressing the gas peddle and nothing. I pulled the Jeep over
took the key out waited a few seconds and put the key back in. it started fine.
However, check engine light remained on. I parked at my house, came back
out about an hour later put the key in and turned it over and all the lights
were off and the Jeep has since been running fine. Any help is greatly
appreciated, I am pretty stumped. Thank you!!

This happened to me last year. First time was just very odd seemed like a fluke. Except about 3/4 months later it became alot worst and I was stalling out all over the place. I learned that letting off the gas a little then exhilerating again would get me moving again if I caught it before stalling or pulling over and turning car off and on would work as well. Ultimately took to Jeep dealership and low and behold!!!!! Wouldn't you know it!! It was the throttle body AND its NOT included/covered as a warrantied part. Jeep is fully aware this part is faulty and they are LUCKY that no one has gotten seriously injured due to this issue. Its scary when it happens. I absolutely refused to give them my $850 for repair especially since I had dropped off my car prior to this incident because it had been driving funny and making a loud vibrating when stopped at a light or in traffic which come to find out had something to do with that throttle issue. I was told at the time that there was no vibration or loud revving during their test drive

Same here. 2015 with only 31,000 miles. Lightening bolt flashed 1 time a couple of months ago, andnthe airbag symbol flashed twice in the last 5 days....feeling a little nervous about this
