2002 ford ranger

I have a 2002 ford ranger 4.0, I was on the freeway
and everything shut off. When I parked to start it all
the lights went out. I disconnected the battery and
connected it again and all the lights started working
but when I went to start it everything went out
again? Any ideas I’m stranded on the side of the
road

Thanks Ed turns out it was just a bad ground I was able to get it to crank now, still doesn’t start tho I’m going to do some testing later and see if it’s either spark or fuel that’s the issue.
