The best rearend upgrade for 1988 v10 suburban

I have a 1988 v10 suburban  4x4. I am intending to
upgrade my power plant to a bbc and rearend. I'd
like to pull my 30' camper, play a little and drive it
around. So not looking for a strictly off road
upgrade.
I'm also intending on putting a 4' lift and some 37"
military take offs on it.
What gear ratio would you recommend for the
front and rear as well as the best years of truck to
look for to grab rear and front end out of?
Also is the stock th400 tranny good enough or
would I need to upgrade that as well. Thanx. John

Gm 14 bolt, dana 60 or dana 80. Just look for just about any 2500 or 3500 (c20 or c30), same body style as your suburban, and take the rear end. The only problem is you may have to move up to a 8 lug

I'd prefer the 8 lug anyway. My concern is the springs and axle width not matching up to my frame.

As long as it's the same body style truck it will bolt right in.
