how do you remove rotor on rear

It sounds like they could be rusted onto the hub. A good sledge works, with some penetrating fluid as well as some hardware, like a bolts, washers and nuts between the caliper mounts and the rotor to force it off the hub from behind. youtube will have some videos to give you an idea.
