Full fuel treatment

Lately my car has been rough idling only while in
drive at a stop like red lights. So bad it makes my
whole car shake. I've noticed over the last couple
months it's getting progressively worse. My Nissan
dealership told me it needs a Full fuel treatment
when I told them to check it out at my last oil
change. What does this mean for my car. I'll what it
typically is for a classic car but the description by
the tech sounded allot more complicated than
usual. The cost to have this done will be $219. In
trying to find a do it yourself method that is still the
same and try to save money. I don't make enough
to pay that kind of money for a full fuel treatment.

What you do is go to an auto parts store and have them recommend a fuel injection cleaner that you just add to the gas tank. You may also want to clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor in the air intake tube, use the appropriate spray cleaner, you can get that also from the parts store.

I tried fuel injector cleaner when it originally started acting up and it didn't help any. My gas mileage has went from 38 mpg to 28mpg. Thanks I'll check into the mass air flow today.

For a smog test it was recommended to add a fuel additive in the gas. Will this be ok or harm my car?
