4WD Hi in Nissan Frontier

Asked by Chris Oct 06, 2018 at 05:29 PM about the 2014 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X King Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a manual trans 2014 Frontier. When turning in 4WD hi and the clutch pushed down or in N the truck comes to a stop as though the breaks are on. Is this normal? Happens at slow speeds like trying to pull into a parking spot.

If you are in neutral or not in gear the front and back wheels are still connected through the transfer case. For tight turns take it out of 4WD to avoid excess stress on the drive train. I hope you are not driving in 4WD on dry pavement!!!
