How do I fix my trunk it keeps pulling itself down?

Asked by Guru92M1YY Sep 27, 2022 at 08:24 AM about the 2014 Ford Edge Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My ford edge 2014 trunk won't open it tries and pulls itself
down before it opens any. I have tried to unplug the
battery, do it manually inside (latch won't pull or push) and
I have tried to disable/enable in settings. Can someone
please help fix this without spending a fortune at a shop?

It sounds like the switch that controls the lock mechanism has gotten shifted and needs adjustment. Try loosening the switch and moving it slightly and see if you can find the sweet spot that allows the switch to operate correctly.
