Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I know this is a potentially lame question but here it is...

I need your opinion! I bought this truck GM certified pre
owned one year ago. Very good condition for $28,000. That
warranty is about to run out except for power train, but I
can purchase a bumper to bumper extended warranty from
the dealership for $2900. That's 100,000 miles or 7 years
which ever comes first. I'm at 53,000 miles and drive only
9500 miles per year. I maintain well and as I say it's a good
truck. What do you think?

Powertrain warranty covers the expensive stuff like engine, transmission, transfer case and rear end. You could do lots of repair for $2900 bucks. I wouldn't do it, but it is your money.

I agree with Bob, you can repair many things with $2900. If you decide to purchase the extended warranty, be sure to read the coverage and if you have to pay a deductible. Remember, this is not like the factory warranty, it is an insurance and there may be a deductible to pay. Think it over and do what you feel is best.
