I can't seem to find the starter on my 2002 Ford Eddie Bauer expedition now I turn the key an hear nothing so I'm trying to tap the starter an see if that's what's wrong where do I fond it

On the left side of the engine down low where the engine and transmission meet.

Follow the big (probably red) 0g cable from battery to where it leads, which will be the starter. The big cable goes directly there because the solenoid is attached to starter. It's not exotic or hidden in some obscure place, has to engage the flywheel
