Trunk light

Asked by Test300 Dec 16, 2014 at 02:01 PM about the 2014 Chrysler 300 RWD

Question type: General

While driving on the highway the trunk open light came on. I looked at it throught the
rear window, it was not open. A little bit after that the gas tank light open light came on
for maybe a few seconds, but the trunk light stayed on. When got to my destination I
checked to see if anything was blocking the trunk latch...nothing was there, but did
notice a little bit of moisture right underneath the latch. Wiped it up as of not no
problems. Any ideas on why this happened?

I just checked and there is no TSB or complaints for this concern ...it may be that the body control module thought it received a false bus message that the trunk was open ..or there is a wire that is not making contact or shorting to ground...being that this is a new vehicle there may be a new flash program coming out for the body control module and just has not posted yet ...check with your dealer and they can see if there is any updates.. hope this helped good luck. Will do...Thanks John, Btw just got a recall notice in the mail about the alternator. Dealers don't have the part in stock yet & supposed to let you know when they do receive it.

Hi yes that's a new recall and the vendor that supplies the parts need has not caught up to speed with getting them to the dealers ....so don't get upset they will come
