don't know why 2000 crown victoria over heating

I changed the heater core and put everything back together started it and it ran good for about ten minutes then the temperature gauge went way up and water sprayed in the engine compartment.

Sounds like a loose hose somewhere. Once you get it back together be sure and purge the air out. Youtube has several good videos on purging air.

Is this the engine with the coolant plumbed through a pipe i the intake?
