The Parking Brake setting ! Excellent point and likely to be the situation I found myself in. I turned and I turned yet did not push in as you suggest here to catch the spiral rod, Thank you the advice and I will report back one day with results. Have a pending snow storm to deal with just now ! Best regards, Tennisshoes !

..just beware one of the calipers retracts clockwise the other counterclockwise, there is a special tool not too expensive..

Karmon, Really - could I have been turning the disc the wrong way ? Are you positive about this since a manual said counterclockwise and didn't separate left from right ( I only tried the right rear and gave up ! )

Rotate counterclockwise to get it going, then clockwise to wind back into calipers

My 2008 Ford Escape AWD floor matts keep getting soaked. I thought I had fixed it by making sure the sunroof was closed properly, but it has continued. I have tried to figure out where this is coming from and finally after drying them out again I laid under the the vehicle and both on the drivers side in the middle of the front floor area and the passanger side there is a small hole about the size of a dine right in the middle. That would account for the water coming in after rain storms and such, but why would these two holes be there? Was there a drain area there with plugs and they are missing? Can I have a piece of metal welded over them? Don't know why they would be there. Doesn't seem to be a rust issue as it is frim all around these small holes. 7 Answers
