I turn the car off to fill up and once i get in to start i have to hold my foot on the brake while also pressing the accelerator in order to keep it started and take off. My son has a 2003 Ford Escape with a V6 and sometimes for no reason at all it will lose all of the instrument gauges briefly while he is driving and then come back on in an instant with no loss of power. There have been times he called me because his car would turn over but not start, When I get there I've checked it with my OBD II reader and no codes would show up. Then after trying to start it several times with no luck, it just fires right back up for no apparent reason. The battery, alternator, are new and working fine. I've checked the cable connections and I'm still at a loss as to why this keeps doing this, I'ts been like this for over a year. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. 4 Answers

I have a 67 F-100 with a 390. I am experiencing an intermittent but annoying problem. The truck will start right up most times don't need to touch the gas pedal. The truck runs for say 10 minutes (this varies) then shuts off like I turned off the key. Sotimes it will start right up and other times I have to hold the gas to the floor. Then the game is on. It will stall and I will get stranded. The truck was put up for the winter & I just took it out. It started right up and after letting run for a few minutes I drove it home about 65 miles. No problems at all. 2 days later I go out starts right up go 2 miles stop for gas and it shuts off before I can turn it off. I have had issues before when it gets hot and it will stall and then not start. Please help. 3 Answers
