My 2014 ford escape is a pain to start but only after putting gas. I turn the car off to fill up and once i get in to start i have to hold my foot on the brake while also pressing the accelerator in order to keep it started and take off. After a few minutes of driving it is fine. I can then turn off and turn on the car just fine. Issue only occurs when putting gas

Purge valve under hood is stuck open allowing fuel vapor to enter while fueling, essentially flooding the engine when starting. Replace evap purge valve.
