I had a similar taillight issue after changing the bulb, tested the continuity of the sockets(ok)- it still wasn’t working . took it to a mechanic thinking it wasn’t fixable. feed wire happened to be broken in two spots under the bed/frame. u may want to look at the wire harness & the condition if the wires and see if there is breakage. if i would have had more time to look at this i could have saved myself $225. Good luck.
