what is causing my 2000 Dodge Dakota voltage gage to quit working

My truck seems to be running fine, starts okay but when I drive a little ways the voltage gauge quits working.

I have 2000 Dakota sport 6 cyl.... same exact prob... put in new battery. .. still doing it !!! I had the ame issue with a 1990 Labaron... it was a $1.75 master fuse/ relay under the hood. No visual... pulled it out and shook it... thee was loose rattling... this could be the same... Did you ever figure out you issue ?

After replacing my battery, battery cables and all the fuses, I had my alternator check by three different Auto stores that said it was fine (all 3 places & in between replacing everything else) so I ended up change my alternator anyway and low and behold no more gauge problems!!!
