Bought a '84 chevy s10 blazer. Only has 48k original miles on it. I am getting average mpg, 17-18, but would like to get better. What are some easy and fairly inexpensive ($400 max) ways to improve?

Something simple but often overlooked. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. You could even go a 1-2 psi over for less drag but a stiffer ride.

Supposedly running synthetic motor oil and changing the differential oil to synthetic oil is supposed to increase gas mileage a few percent here and there, but I've never experienced it. You're getting the EPA rated MPG in a 30 year old truck right now
