Can a heater coil make my 2003 Taurus run hot

No. Running the heater can help cool off an overheated engine but the heater coil is not part of the regular cooling system.

Uhhhh, it's heater "core" or "heli"-coil. Now are you talking about a heater core or helical coil? One heats the interior of the car and the other is a mechanical thread repair device. I'm confused and old, but the old part is not your fault. The answer is a strong maybe.
