Question type: Maintenance & Repair

thought it had went bad but after I got it

If the leak is really tiny I would try Alumaseal but it is better to trace it out and fix it.

The plastic elbows (if it has them, I'm not sure on a car that old) leading to the heater core are prone to failure. Even if they are not leaking they should be replaced. They all fail eventually and will leave you stranded. Adding a sealant to the cooling system is an excellent idea. The engine is prone to gasket leaks and fixing them is expensive. On a car that old you don't want to be spending all kinds of money. It's a cheap fix and if it works it will likely last the remainder of the car's life.
