When I'm building speed or rmps hard I don't hear
anything but when I Take my foot off the gas pedal it
makes a shering metal on metal noise but goes away
when I am building speed and rpms

Could be a rotor making contact with a dust shroud , Some linkages or mounts could be worn enough for some movement . Could be the transfer case or other related item . It's 30 + years old it may need some work
