Asked by Emmett Feb 06, 2017 at 02:47 PM about the 1982 Chevrolet El Camino RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The converter on this truck is the original from 1982.In the early 80's we put
regular gas in it all the time. And it is 35 yrs old.question,Just theoretically mind
you.If I remove the converter from the system will I get better gas milage for a
1500mile one way trip?

If the old one is plugged up them very possibly. If you put regular leaded gas in it, it is non functional anyway but my recommendation is to install a new one.
