I have a 89 S-10 4.3 and it backfires through throttle body

89 S-10 backfires through throttle body lack of power at acceleration and
service engine light comes on after a while  I've checked timing plugs and wires
and did a diagnostic test and it showed nothing please help

Given the age (and miles?) backfiring can be any number of issues. You say you checked timing, have you checked for slack in timing chain? Dist. cap and rotor? Pick up coil? Ignition module? How does it idle?

I check rotor and dist cap also and Idle is good at first but after driving about 5 to 6 miles it feels like it wants to die at stop lights and then when I go it chugs and if I keep at a low speed and light on acceleration it does fine until I hit it
