Question type: Car Customization

My qustion is can i put a 4.3 in my 1984
manual transmission 4x4 2.8 s10 and keep
the same transmission?

the 4.3 I've heard is a small block missing 2 cylinders and I don't think so , the rest of the drive train would also have to be beefed up you don't want to twist the frame , that would be bad
