89 f150 won't stay running

Ok here it is; just put new sending
units in an 89 f150 5 liter with dual
tanks. Ran freaking great before I put
the units in. Now no matter which
tank is selected it dies out after a few
minutes just chokes right out. Pumps
are strong I can hear them running.
After it dies it won't start till I let it set
with the ignition on for a few minutes
then it'll run a few and choke out.
Ignition off for a few it won't start.
Ignition on for a few it starts for a
few. What'a ya think?

Use only one tank and by-pass the sending units/diverter valve underneath. Eliminate all pressure hoses except to & from one tank.The dash switch to change to the other different tank often wear out. The sending/diverter unit valve often gets clogged. Bottom-line: forget about using dual tanks. That's the only way I solved this problem.
