If it turns over and does not start when warm, have the Ignition Control Module checked out. If you take it out Auto Zone can test it. If the motor does not turn over when warm, then probably the starter needs replacing.

The symptom you describe tends to point to the ICU. They are susceptible to heat and will operate once cooled off. My hopped up mid 70's Grand Torino had the problem until I moved the thing to a location where it received more air flow over the unit during operation. As mine got worse the thing would quit while in operation and I had to sit on the side of the road for a half hour until it cooled off. Surf the net and you will find a testing procedure. The thing is very expensive. This is one instance when you do not want to throw that part at it. Being electronic, you probably cannot bring it back if that is not the problem.
