Question type: Car Customization

What do I have to do to make my 1988 f150 2wd 5

keep my transmission!

You will need to add a transfer case and front axle. Most trucks have the transfer case bolt up to the transmission so you may have to get another transmission or engineer a divorced transfer case set up which some hardcore off road guys do.

Possibly but if you have the 300 six, I would stick with that. I hear those are great engines.
