Putting a fuel injection motor into a carburetored frame. (300 six Carbed, 302 Fuel injected)

Correction, its a 1983 Ford F150.

the 6 and 8cyl will line up with trans,but you will need to take the brackets that the motor mounts sit on also.then you need the computer and the wiring from the 88.the dash board is different so you will have to make your 88 wiring work with your 83 dash board.you also need the wiring for the fuel pumps and the gas tanks that the fuel pumps sit in and the high pressure fuel pump on frame rale.plus you will encounter other issues when doing it.its a lot of work.if both trucks are standard cab it would be a lot easier to change the cab.its a lot of work,plus the things I probrely forgot to write,i did this a long time ago.you can do it but depending on youre skill level it could be overwhelming.

That is going to be a job. Besides what Colin stated, if you take this on here is a few other things to research before you get started. Make sure the fuel pumps are interchangeable, they probably will not be. I suggest you remove the fuel tanks and have them cleaned out since you're taking on such a big job. Purchase as many rolls of different colored electrical tape as necessary. When disconnecting electronic components place tape on the component and where it plugs in. Be sure to fasten the various electronic parts at a location where the wires will reach. Make sure the location is not subject to extreme heat. After your build appears like it is half way down the assembly line fire it up. If it runs you're job is not even close to complete, now you can work with the interior. Good luck if the guages in the old truck are analog and the new one digital. I suggest you sell the newer truck for as much as you can get then purchase remanufacturered (not rebuilt) 300-6

i would just carb the 302. The injection system is crap on them anyway. Ask any car guy that has one, if they havent converted it to a carb they most likely want to
