modify fuel intake system

Can i do away with my 86 F150 throttle body
and all this vacuem bs and go old school on
it like a high rise edelbrock and carb with
headers and duals just basi  simple old
school hot rod modifications will the system  
freak out or is there a way to overcome
these obstacles i understand old school this
vacuem mess is giving me a headache and
a wallet pain please help me out here

Old school could be done, but lots of things may be required. Fixing what you have is the best route. When fuel injection is working it is far better than a carburetor ever was.
