Not sure what you mean. If there is sparking under the hood you need to check the cap, rotor and spark plug wires. Do you have a magneto or a distributor?

Thank you. This is a Model A Ford and prior to this I haven't seen this. The charges don't seem to be directional - all over the place rather than what you might see in a direct short. Hence a "storm". The plug "wires" are uninsulated straps and the distributor and cap are new. I didn't see anything in regards to the coil or its wiring. ( That could have been because I was looking for the fire extinguisher.) Primitive for now but for 1931 it worked with a 6V Positive Ground system. For now it seams that my only option is to double check everything perhaps twice. I'll return if I find something. Thanks again, Steve

You can buy real insulated spark plug wires for your A if you want.
