03 Dodge Dakota engine. 3.9 v6. What year engines would work with the tranny and drivetrain? Everything I find states 1987-2001 used a 3.9 v6, however, then it states afterward uses 3.7. my Dakota still has. 3.9 and head gasket blew. The tranny has 129k on it. I understand the whole cost is labor intensive and I'm thinking of rebuilding the engine. What model years can be the range as I know it can't be a 14 year swing in parts?
