My vanagon stalls on the road and usually will turn over after, but not start again for 1 hourl

It sounds like your van may be suffering what is know in the Vanagon community as "Vanagon Syndrome". It's worth Googling the term to see the volumes of forum discussions on the topic. Apparently, there is a factory "wire harness" add-in modification that remedies the problem.
