Why is my 87 caprice stalling in gear

Car will start but stalls when placed into gear. Have
already changed all of the following. Rebuilt
carburetor, new fuel filter, new cap and button, new
timing chain. Hesitates to start a little and won't
stay running in gear. What else could this be??
