Car jumps when put into drive or reverse

I have an 84 chevy Caprice and it jumps when
shifting to drive or reverse. Anyone know the
problem and solution to the fix?

engine idle is too high over 800 r.p.m. no doubt . if not, then the motor mounts may be shot, but then it would jump any time you gassed it quickley
