i  want to change the valve cover gasket on my 1984 vw rabbit convertable basic, i can,t find out why the cover won,t come off, even though i removed the bolts , i understand that the cover for the timing belt the top part has to come off. is there a bolt in the front of the cover that looks like a hex screw that needs to come off.  thank you

Make sure all the fasteners are off- that shouldn't be too hard- then you may have to blast that cover off because it is stuck- that IS hard-
