Asked by Jacob Nov 13, 2012 at 01:15 PM about the 1989 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I "Set" the cruise control it works like it should for about 2 miles, then it automatically shuts off by itself. After it shuts off my "Coolant Fan Temp" Indicator lamp will come on - on the dash. After it is illuminated it starts to flicker / flash on and off for a couple of seconds and either shuts off or stays on. But after the indicator light shuts off i can't reset my cruise control back to the speed i had it at unless i completely shut my car off and resart it. I'm thinking it is the Electronic Control Module (ECM) (I really hope it's not) but I'm not sure because i havent had the time to diagnos it yet.
